Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences expanding in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure are included.
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the main group to begin their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might appear mismatched, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to head next after a intense first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his obligations and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
This results in them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of the traitor.
According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we find out that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Questers and Strategists parties.
Audiences can expect learning which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on October 24.
